Dowsing & Reynolds sell design-led lighting, vintage light bulbs, and hip hardware. The business had a very hard-working website (bagging them Small eCommerce Company of the Year in 2017), but they felt the company had evolved over recent years and that the website was no longer on-brand.
My brief was to give the homepage a bit of a makeover inspired by working, productive spaces and urban lofts – seasoned with a hint of hipster, humour and glam.
After exploring two routes, the client chose a design that featured illustrations at the top of the homepage. Some of these were adapted from the company’s esteemed packaging, while others I created using the same style. I then coded a html prototype to explore how the individual illustrative elements should adapt across different screen sizes.
The new look was implemented and rolled out across the rest of the website by the company’s in-house web developer.
