Here is the simplest way to download a thumbnail for a Youtube video.

Go to this url: https://img.youtube.com/vi/youtube-video-id/maxresdefault.jpg

Replace “youtube-video-id” with the actual video id.

Then right click over the image and select download image. Voila!
