A new website for cosy Leeds' restaurant, El Bareto.

El Bareto is a few minutes’ walk from where I live and is one of my favourites places to have a beer and bite to eat. Consequently, I have got to know the owners well over the years, so when they mentioned that they needed a new website, I was more than happy to offer my services.

The client already had several poorly functioning websites, as well as a blog on WordPress.com, but they really needed a single site to bring everything together, which was also easy to maintain.

The first requirement of the site was to allow the owners to upload menus and flag any special offers or other announcements on the home page. As their main way of communicating with the public is via Twitter, the website had to be able to pull these posts in too. The site also needed to showcase photography of the venue, which they had recently commissioned, along with a Google virtual tour. Finally, the site needed to reflect its quirky, fun, friendly, relaxed vibe as a venue.

I built the site in WordPress and gave the owner one to one tuition in how to edit content. Unfortunately, the site has not been updated since it was launched because of the arrival of a baby son!
