Brussels-based furniture company, Bautier, was founded by Marina Bautier, a designer of functional, durable, and modern solid wood furniture. In December 2017, she launched a carefully selected collection of accessories to compliment her furniture – very high quality, locally produced, and all handmade by talented craftspeople. These items were to be sold in her store in Brussels and online.

With a decent knowledge of web design and coding, Marina had created Bautier’s first website herself. Now she needed something more sophisticated that worked on mobile devices and which incorporated eCommerce.

I was brought in to build the new website on the Shopify platform.

With an eye for detail, Marina created the initial design mock-ups herself. Then, working very closely together using an iterative process, I was able to build a custom Shopify theme that reflected Marina’s evolving sense of how the website should look and work interactively.
